Tips on Buying Equipment Attachments
Equipment attachments are incredibly useful tools! Not only do they allow your equipment to complete a multitude of tasks, but they can save you quite a bit of money on alternative machinery. However, there are quite a few different implement son the market, and it’s easy to get confused or even overwhelmed by so many options. For tips on selecting the perfect attachment for your equipment, be sure to read our helpful tips below!
Attachment Size
Before you choose an implement off the dealership lot, you’ll need to take a moment to consider the equipment you plan on attaching it to. While it’s important to make sure that the implement and your machinery are compatible, just as important is ensuring that the tool isn’t too large for your model, or the project you have in mind. While you may assume that the larger the attachment is the more efficient it will be, this isn’t quite correct. If you’re undergoing a smaller project, you’ll find a large implement to be slow, difficult to maneuver, and extremely inefficient.
Attachment Type
When shopping for your new attachments it’s important to remember that now all tools are compatible with all machinery. While two auger attachments may look exactly alike, if one is designed for a tractor and the other for a lawn mower, neither will function correctly on your skid steer. As you browse your dealership’s inventory of available attachments, you’ll also want to keep your personal expectations in mind. For example, if you’re looking to transport materials, a bucket and plow attachment are both viable options. However, if you’re looking to also grade and compact materials, a plow is a much better choice than a bucket, which is better at lifting and transporting and dumping materials in hard to reach places.
